Venture 2021
Alliance NW Women is hosting their annual Fall gathering, Venture, to bring together women who have a desire to grow spiritually and belong to a supportive community of people. This year’s theme is “Belong”. Based on Matthew 25:35b, which states, “I was a stranger and you invited me in.”
It will be an intentional space for fellowship, worship, and spiritual growth. You will also hear about current and upcoming projects to get involved with that support our International Workers.
Mark this date in your calendar and invite your friends to come with you!

Jen was born into a Christian family in Minnesota and always believed the message of the gospel. Shortly before her 9th birthday, Jen declared her commitment to a personal, lifelong relationship with Christ and was baptized. At the age of 12, Jen began attending Dover Avenue Alliance Church with her family in Orange City, IA. She attended Bethel University in St. Paul, MN for two years and Iowa State University for two years, earning a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. In 1986, Jen married her best friend & high-school sweetheart, Doug Vogel. Together, they have raised two boys, Adam & David. Jen & Doug both serve in ministry as layperson volunteers. Jen is the Alliance Women national director and serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet.
In her free time, Jen enjoys reading, travel, and the daily New York Times® crossword puzzle.
Jen says, “I desire to be a woman of the Word and a woman of peace, maintaining a spirit of encouragement and living a life characterized by humility and grace” and claims this truth: “God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” (Philippians 2:13 NLT)
Becky lives in Portland with her husband, Kelly, and 3 children - Cece, Danny and Rosie along with their 5 chickens and an orange tabby cat named Boomer. Becky has been singing most of her life, but especially enjoys singing with Kelly who is the worship pastor at Missio Community Church. Together, they have served and loved their community and the city of Portland for the past 8 years. You can most always find Becky barefoot in her garden, drinking coffee, and watching Boomer and the chickens catching flies.
