Director of RTI North Sound

Smokey Point Community Church is launching a new RTI (Reach Training Institute) site, called RTI North Sound. We are hiring a full-time Director to lead this unique college; training pastors and international workers to be debt-free and field ready. We are looking for someone with a passion to raise up and launch the next generation of leaders. A Master's Degree is required.   If interested, please submit a cover letter and résumé by email to


To help fulfill the purposes of RTI North Sound by giving leadership to academic and administrative priorities, while working closely with the pastoral staff at Smokey Point Community Church. This includes oversight of paid staff and volunteers. Full-time salary.


  • Reports to the Smokey Point Community Church Lead Pastor

  • Accountable to RTI Salem Dean’s Office for implementing terms and conditions of RTI/Crown Articulation Agreement (2016)


  • Must live a life that demonstrates an intimate and growing relationship with Christ.

  • Must agree with the doctrine and policies of SPCC and the C&MA.

  • Must be committed to the vision and values of SPCC.

  • Must agree and support terms and conditions of RTI/Crown Articulation Agreement (2016).

  • Must meet regularly with an accountability partner.

  • Must demonstrate through experience and giftedness administrative skills.

  • Must demonstrate through experience and giftedness the ability to teach at a collegiate level.



Cohort Culture

  • Implement strategies to develop a “cohort culture”; a relational, family-like culture.


  • Academic Load: Teach on average one-two courses per semester

  • Curriculum

    • Adopt and implement RTI/Crown Scope & Sequence of courses and practicums

    • Maintain RTI reference library

  • Faculty

    • Recruit, train and evaluate faculty in coordination with RTI Salem

    • Maintain correspondence with faculty as needed

    • Provide on-going logistical support to faculty

  • Advising

    • Work with students on class scheduling and Crown handoff.

    • Work with Crown to ensure path to graduation.

  • Writing

    • Achieve proficiency with APA style guide (6th Edition)

    • Implement writing support system for students who need assistance


  • Conduct paper screening of all applicants

  • Develop interview teams and lead all new student interviews

  • Participate in assessment post-interview and make recommendations to RTI leadership team

Calendars and Schedules

  • Review and revise RTI Master Calendar bi-annually

  • Set class schedules in consultation with Academic Dean term-by-term

Student Discipline

  • Communicate academic and behavioral goals and guidelines

  • Oversee disciplinary procedures when necessary

Ministry Practicums

  • Assign all freshmen and sophomores to Core practicum locations/supervisors

  • Participate in assessment process of all Core practicums

  • Review and approve Ministry Agreements for all Customized and Residencies

  • Assist RTI Practicum Faculty in communicating with supervisors regarding policies and procedures for practicums

  • Assist RTI Practicum Faculty in placement of all juniors and seniors in Pastoral Residencies

RTI Financials

  • Work with SPCC financial director in communicating policies and implementing procedures (billing, accounts receivable, payroll (adjunct faculty, RTI Salem, Crown), tuition refunds)

  • Submit financial report quarterly to Governing Board with recommendations

  • Initiate financial probation in cases where students violate policies and guidelines


Oversight of Schoology LMS (Learning Management System)

  • Oversee course loading process term-by-term

  • Maintain all faculty and student folders (information), calendars, data base

  • Provide orientation and on-going training for faculty and students as needed


  • Develop and oversee promotion in coordination with RTI Salem and RTI/BIOS

  • Connect with local churches, high schools, church camps etc.

Communications With

  • RTI Salem Dean’s Office - Implementation of policies and procedures according to RTI Tool Box and coaching and training

  • ANW Field Office - Coordination with Licensing, Ordination and Consecration

  • Crown College - Coordinate site visits and correspondence with key individuals

  • Faculty - Invitations to Annual Faculty Orientation and Training event and to annual RTI graduations

  • Donors - Participate in planning and implementation of any approved fundraisers

Event Coordination

  • Freshmen Retreat

  • Orientation Week

  • Coordinate and lead Freshman mission trip

  • Graduation


Oversee administrative assistant and ensure that the following duties are carried out:

  • Purchase textbooks

  • Contact and track potential new students

  • Respond to inquiries from potential new students and track progress

  • Set up interviews with potential new students

  • Put together interview packets for admissions team (interviewers)

  • Send out notifications to all participants on admission status

  • Create student IDs for all new students

  • Prepare and submit transcripts to Crown Registrar’s office after each term

  • Oversee social media and website

  • Announcements and general notifications

  • Partner church participants: Attendance policy for partner subsidy

  • Responding and providing information to prospective students

  • Meeting notifications, agendas, minutes

  • Set schedule with RTI Staff, arrange meeting rooms at Field Forum
