Sara Waldvogel
Sara was born in Memphis, TN and attended the University of Memphis. She received a Bachelor of Science in Education and also met a charming Yankee from Chicago, her future husband, Rick!

On the surface, Sara’s adult life appeared “perfect.” She cherished her loving husband and her beautiful children and she enjoyed multiple vacations and a beautiful home. Sara also faithfully attended her church and volunteered excessively. The many women’s clubs and children’s activities filled her life. Yet, she had no idea why she was depressed, lonely, experiencing panic attacks, and feeling desperately afraid? Our Almighty God opened her eyes and heart to His Power and Love and showed her His Truth...rather than what she thought was her truth. Over a difficult period of time of struggle, Jesus changed the direction of her life and gave her a hunger for God’s Word.

Today Sara’s Joy comes from helping others fulfill their God given potential. She has dedicated the last 30 years serving the Lord by sharing with others the love, freedom, assurance, and peace that is found in a beautiful relationship with Jesus Christ.

Sara served fifteen years as a Leader and Substitute Teacher for Bible Study Fellowship International in the Dallas, Texas area. She was a speaker at several Pepperdine University Bible Lectureships, and numerous Dallas area Church Retreats and Women Luncheons. Over the years she has written and facilitated many 6 week Bible Studies for women.

Sara has lived in Clinton, on Whidbey Island, for the last 5 years and she is a member of the Island Church of Whidbey. She now serves as Secretary and Member At Large on the Governing Authority Board, as the Women’s Ministries Vice Chair and teacher. She also participates on the Prayer Team and is a Life Group Leader.

She has been asked to speak at several local women’s retreats “Making All Things New” - Christian Life Center in Freeland, WA; “Joy and Patience” - Grace By the Sea Anglican Church in Oak Harbor, WA; and “Finding Joy” - the Island Church of Whidbey in Langley, WA.

Sara and Rick have been married for 47 years and have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
