Good News from the Field: December 2017 Edition

December 1, 2017

Salem For Refugees catches the attention of US State Dept.

Exciting news from Salem! On December 4, the Chief of Domestic Resettlement and Refugee Admissions from the U.S. Department of State, Barbara Day, is coming to town to learn about Salem For Refugees (the organization Doug & Anya Holcomb started last year through Salem Alliance Church) and the organization’s model of supporting our refugee neighbors. Ms. Day will attend the monthly Welcoming Our New Neighbors Meeting where she will speak about national refugee resettlement, and will participate in a panel discussion along with the Oregon State Refugee Coordinator and Resettlement Agency leaders. Ms. Day has been an advocate for refugees in the U.S. and around the world for over a decade.

This is another praiseworthy chapter in what God is doing in and through Doug & Anya, Salem Alliance Church, and our Field.
