Disaster Relief: Four-Part Training Series

Your Outreach Now Will Prepare You for Disaster Tomorrow

With the right team in place, your church can extend care to your community when the next fire, flood, or earthquake strikes. Alliance Northwest is hosting a four-part virtual training series on how to build a team that’s committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus for your neighbors before, during, and after a disaster. 

Topics will include: Team Dynamics and Problem Solving, Knowing Your Community, Psychological First Aid, Disaster Supplies, and more.

As a graduate of Canton McKinley’s Vocational Law Enforcement program and a member of the Canton Police Youth Corps, Philip began his life of public service early. Throughout the years, Philip continued his service,working as a Deputy Sheriff, Police Chief, EMS First Responder and Volunteer Fire Fighter. Philip also served 14 years in the U.S. Army Reserve and another 6 years in the Ohio Army National Guard. As a Military Police Sergeant and Safety NCO, Philip served both in the United States and Overseas. Philip has been the Village Administrator for the Village of Centerburg since 2007 where he oversees the day to day operations of the Village. Additionally, Philip is an instructor for FEMA and the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (EMA) teaching classes in Logistics, Emergency Operations, Planning and Incident Command. 

Philip and DeeAnne have 3 adult children and 2 grand children (with a 3rd on the way). Philip and DeeAnne surrendered their lives to Christ and began attending Center Pointe Church in 2008. In 2012, Philip heard God calling him to Chaplain Ministry with First Responders. In 2013 Phil started in LEAD, a pastoral studies program supported by the Central District. After completing LEAD in 2015 Philip began serving as a Volunteer Chaplain with the Ohio Special Response Team (Search & Rescue) and with the Central Ohio Joint Fire District.

We encourage you to attend all four parts of this training to get the most out of it for your team. We will be sending out invitations with a link to access the training a couple weeks before each date.
