Church Health

From time to time, it helps to get an outside perspective on what’s happening inside your church. Below are the services the Field Office provides to assist local church leadership in addressing the health of their ministry. For more information on any of these services, contact Dennis Pust.

“The [Assessment] process provided our church family with the outside perspective we needed to help us get a handle on our strengths, weaknesses, and blind spots. With the help of an assessment team, we outlined practical and doable steps to work our way toward greater health.”
—  Kirk Romberg, Lead Pastor of Yakima Alliance Church, Yakima, Washington

A church assessment process is intended to give you a clear picture of your current reality, and a clear process to discover God’s plan for your future. At the request of a church’s leadership, a trained team comes alongside a church to help them gain an accurate picture of the church’s health and offer a prescription for greater health and impact. In addition to leaders who are a part of the Alliance Northwest, we partner with Church Resource Ministries (CRM) and New Church Specialties to provide this service.

It's normal to stop and refocus at some point. This is true for churches, too. A church refocusing process involves an experienced coach coming alongside the pastor and church leadership team for 12 to 18 months. The guided method begins with a period of spiritual renewal followed by a redefining of the mission, vision, and values of the church, culminating in a strategic ministry plan and implementation timeline.

Sometimes churches find themselves in between Lead Pastors and can greatly benefit from the skills of an experienced pastor who specializes in serving a congregation through a season of transition. Transitions are perfect times to address core issues of health to prepare the way for a new long-term Lead Pastor.
